Anthropometric characteristics of four groups of indigenous people of Wallacea in East Indonesia

The human body size varies significantly around the world, both between and within populations. Likewise, ethnic diversity has a significant effect on anthropometric data differences for Naulu, Tana Ai, Bugis Rampasasa tribes, in Wallacea, East Indonesia. Six dimensions were collected from 484 people, 219 males 265 females age 18 to 80 years. statistical analysis included tabulating means standard deviations various proportions. A one-way ANOVA with post hoc LSD test was performed determine of proportions, as well four groups. There are (p<0.01) among groups two sexes most measurements taken. post-hoc indicated that Naulu male largest compared Bugis, tribes. have large size, long trunk, broad shoulders, legs. Ai people nearly identical characteristics, namely medium body, narrow shoulders hips, whereas small wide pelvis. trapezoidal trunks, while rectangular trunks.
